Half and full-face masks

Half mask and full face respirators

Reusable respirators for businesses: the half mask AG360 to EN 140:1998 in orange and white and the full-face mask AG700 to EN 136:1998, class 2. Both are PPE of category III with EU type examination by notified body 2834 and are combined with AirGuard Pro filters.

Which mask fits depends on the multiple by which the substance exceeds the workplace exposure limit: with a P3 or gas filter the half mask is permitted up to 30 times, the full-face mask up to 400 times. The respirator finder shows the suitable combination.

Which filter fits which mask?

AirGuard Pro masks and filters are tested as a system. Bayonet filters sit in pairs on half and full-face masks, RD40 filters singly in the centre of the full-face mask. More under Bayonet or RD40.

According to the data sheets of the filters. On the AG700 either the bayonet pair or one RD40 filter is used, never both at once.

Half mask or full-face mask?

The half mask covers nose and mouth, is lighter and leaves room for safety glasses and a helmet. The full-face mask covers the whole face and so also protects the eyes from irritant substances. It is needed when the concentration is above 30 times the limit value. More under Half mask or full-face mask.

Two filter systems

The half mask AG360 takes two bayonet filters. The full-face mask AG700 takes either two bayonet filters at the sides or one filter with RD40 thread in the centre, never both at once. Class 2 gas filters only come with an RD40 thread. The overview is under Bayonet or RD40.

A face seal is mandatory

A mask only protects if it seals. A beard or sideburns in the sealing area make a person unsuitable under DGUV Rule 112-190. The face seal is checked before every use. How: Face seal and beards.

Care and storage

According to the instructions for use, masks are cleaned and disinfected after every use, stored dry and without deformation, and masks kept ready are checked at least once a month. For the mask bodies the instructions for use state a shelf life of three years if stored correctly.

Are the masks reusable?

Yes. Half mask and full-face mask are cleaned and disinfected after every use and used again with fresh filters. For the mask bodies the instructions for use state three years shelf life if stored correctly.
