Warnings

  • Particle filters do not protect against gases and vapours.
  • Filters do not supply oxygen: do not use where the oxygen content may be too low (below 19.5 % by volume according to the instructions for use), in tanks, pits, shafts and confined spaces, or if the substance and its concentration are not known.
  • Use only with the AirGuard Pro masks named in the documents.

The instructions for use of the product are authoritative.

AirGuard Pro Particle filter P3 R AGP3R1, white

Against particles, not against gases

P3 retains solid and liquid particles, for example grinding and wood dust, smoke or spray mist. A particle filter does not protect against gases and vapours. If both occur, you need a combination filter such as AGABEKK1P3 or AGA1E1.

With the half mask AG360 the filter is permitted up to 30 times the workplace exposure limit under DGUV Rule 112-190, with the full-face mask AG700 up to 400 times. How the protection level is calculated is explained under Half mask or full-face mask.

Reusable, within limits

Under EN 143 the R stands for a filter that may be used beyond one shift. How long exactly is governed by the instructions for use: for AGP3R1 they state two shifts at most, airtight in between. Replace earlier if breathing becomes noticeably harder or the filter is damaged.

Unopened, the filter keeps for three years from manufacture according to the instructions for use; the expiry date is printed on the filter. Store cool, dry, protected from frost and light, away from dust, grease and chemicals.

Using correctly

  1. 01

Open only at the place of use

Take the filter out of its packaging immediately before use and check the expiry date on the filter.

  2. 02

    Fit in pairs

Place two identical filters on the bayonet connections of the mask and turn until they sit firmly.

  3. 03

    Check the face seal

Place the palm of your hand over the exhalation valve and exhale slowly. If air escapes at the edge of the mask, reposition it and tighten the straps. Before every use.

  4. 04

    Replace in good time

When breathing becomes noticeably harder or the filter is damaged or soiled. Always replace both filters together.

Frequently asked questions

How often must the P3 filter AGP3R1 be replaced?

According to the instructions for use after two shifts at most, airtight in between. Earlier if breathing becomes noticeably harder or the filter is damaged.

What does R mean in P3 R?

Under EN 143, R means “reusable”: the filter may be used beyond one shift. NR filters are limited to one shift. The exact duration is given in the instructions for use.

Does a P3 filter protect against solvent vapours?

No. Particle filters only retain particles. Against organic vapours you need a filter of type A, for example AGA1E1 or AGABEKK1P3.

Does AGP3R1 also fit the full-face mask?

Yes, on the two bayonet connections at the sides of the AG700. The central RD40 thread then stays closed.
