Warnings
- Protects only against particles (dust, smoke, mist), not against gases and vapours.
- The activated carbon does not replace a gas filter: the instructions for use exclude protection against gases and vapours.
- The exhalation valve lets exhaled air escape unfiltered: do not use where the surroundings must be protected from the wearer.
- Wear for one working shift at most (NR), then dispose of it. If breathing resistance becomes noticeably high, replace the mask at once.
- Oxygen content at least 17 % by volume. The type and concentration of hazardous substances must be known. If there is a risk of oxygen deficiency, too high a concentration or unknown conditions, use breathing apparatus that is independent of the ambient air.
- Do not use with a beard, sideburns or deep scars in the sealing area. Check the face seal every time you put the mask on.
The instructions for use of the product are authoritative.

What the activated carbon can and cannot do
The 6311C is an FFP3 mask with an additional activated carbon layer, recognisable by its grey colour. The particle protection equals the 6311: FFP3, up to 30 times the workplace exposure limit. Activated carbon is often chosen where odour nuisance occurs in addition to dust.
Important: the instructions for use exclude protection against gases and vapours. The activated carbon is therefore no substitute for a gas filter. If gases or vapours occur at concentrations harmful to health, you need a half mask with a gas or combination filter.
What the mask is suited to
It suits jobs where FFP3 is required and odours are also a nuisance: grinding coated parts, handling stable dust, cleaning work. Whether the activated carbon is enough in your case is clarified by the risk assessment. Typical cases are shown in the application examples.
Valve and packaging
The exhalation valve makes exhaling easier but lets exhaled air escape unfiltered. 10 masks per box in a foil bag. Storage in the original packaging at room temperature, protected from sunlight.
Putting on and checking the face seal
- 01
Put on the mask
Place the mask over nose and mouth and guide the straps over the head as shown in figures 1 to 5 of the instructions for use.
- 02
Adjust the nose clip
Press the nose clip exactly over the nose and squeeze it gently until the mask fits snugly.
- 03
Check the face seal
Cup the mask with both hands and exhale forcefully. If air escapes at the nose, press the clip down harder, otherwise move or shorten the elastic bands.
- 04
Wear for one shift
Wear the mask for one working shift at most. If breathing becomes harder, replace it at once and start again with a new mask.

Frequently asked questions
Does the activated carbon protect against solvent vapours?
No, not in the sense of hazardous substance protection. The instructions for use exclude protection against gases and vapours. For vapours you need a half mask with a type A filter.
How do 6311 and 6311C differ?
The 6311C has an additional activated carbon layer and is grey, the 6311 is white. FFP3 class, valve and packaging are the same. See FFP3 mask 6311.
How long can I wear the mask?
One working shift at most (NR).
Up to what concentration does the mask protect against dust?
Up to 30 times the workplace exposure limit, like any FFP3 mask.
How many masks are in one pack?
10 per box in a foil bag.
