Warnings
- Protects only against particles (dust, smoke, mist), not against gases and vapours.
- The exhalation valve lets exhaled air escape unfiltered: do not use where the surroundings must be protected from the wearer.
- Wear for one working shift at most (NR), then dispose of it. If breathing resistance becomes noticeably high, replace the mask at once.
- Oxygen content at least 17 % by volume. The type and concentration of hazardous substances must be known. If there is a risk of oxygen deficiency, too high a concentration or unknown conditions, use breathing apparatus that is independent of the ambient air.
- Do not use with a beard, sideburns or deep scars in the sealing area. Check the face seal every time you put the mask on.
The instructions for use of the product are authoritative.

Highest class for fine and harmful dusts
FFP3 is the highest class under EN 149 and is permitted up to 30 times the workplace exposure limit, like a half mask with a P3 filter (DGUV Rule 112-190). The 6311 is the standard mask for work with fine dust that is harmful to health, where a mask without replaceable filters is enough.
The D in FFP3 NR D stands for a passed dolomite clogging test.
Disposable respirator or half mask with P3 filter?
In dust, both reach the same protection level: 30 times the limit value. The disposable mask needs no cleaning and no filter care and is ready at once. Anyone working in dust for long hours every day is often better served by a half mask AG360 with P3 filters: only the filter is replaced, the mask lasts longer. The comparison helps you decide.
With valve: advantages and limit
The valve makes exhaling easier and reduces heat and moisture under the mask. It does let exhaled air escape unfiltered. Where the surroundings must be protected from the wearer, a mask without a valve is needed.
Limits of FFP3
Above 30 times the limit value, or when eyes and face must be protected, the full-face mask AG700 with P3 filter (up to 400 times) is the right choice. Asbestos, carcinogenic substances and pathogens require additional rules; the selection belongs in the risk assessment. No FFP mask protects against gases and vapours.
Packaging and storage
10 masks per box in a foil bag. Storage in the closed original packaging at room temperature, protected from sunlight, five years if stored correctly.
Putting on and checking the face seal
- 01
Put on the mask
Place the mask over nose and mouth and guide the straps over the head as shown in figures 1 to 5 of the instructions for use.
- 02
Adjust the nose clip
Press the nose clip exactly over the nose and squeeze it gently until the mask fits snugly.
- 03
Check the face seal
Cup the mask with both hands and exhale forcefully. If air escapes at the nose, press the clip down harder, otherwise move or shorten the elastic bands.
- 04
Wear for one shift
Wear the mask for one working shift at most. If breathing becomes harder, replace it at once and start again with a new mask.

Frequently asked questions
Up to what concentration does an FFP3 mask protect?
Up to 30 times the workplace exposure limit (DGUV Rule 112-190). Above that you need the full-face mask with P3 filter (up to 400 times).
What is the difference between 6311 and 6311C?
The 6311C has an additional activated carbon layer and is grey. Class, valve and packaging are the same. See FFP3 mask 6311C with activated carbon.
How long can I wear the mask?
One working shift at most (NR). If breathing resistance becomes noticeably high, the mask is replaced at once.
When is a half mask with filters better?
For daily long use, for changing hazardous substances (gases and dust) and when you can look after masks centrally. See Disposable respirator or half mask.
How many masks are in one pack?
10 per box in a foil bag.
