FFP2 mask 6201 with valve
Five-layer disposable particulate respirator of class FFP2 NR D in cup shape with exhalation valve, tested to EN 149:2001+A1:2009. The standard for many dust jobs: up to 10 times the workplace exposure limit, with a valve for easier exhaling.

Warnings
- Protects only against particles (dust, smoke, mist), not against gases and vapours.
- Against carcinogenic, mutagenic and reprotoxic substances, radioactive substances and biological agents of risk group 3 only after a risk assessment.
- The exhalation valve lets exhaled air escape unfiltered: do not use where the surroundings must be protected from the wearer.
- Wear for one working shift at most (NR), then dispose of it. If breathing resistance becomes noticeably high, replace the mask at once.
- Oxygen content at least 17 % by volume. The type and concentration of hazardous substances must be known. If there is a risk of oxygen deficiency, too high a concentration or unknown conditions, use breathing apparatus that is independent of the ambient air.
- Do not use with a beard, sideburns or deep scars in the sealing area. Check the face seal every time you put the mask on.
The instructions for use of the product are authoritative.

The all-rounder for dust
FFP2 is the middle class and is permitted up to 10 times the workplace exposure limit (DGUV Rule 112-190). The 6201 has five layers, a preformed cup shape for a stable fit and an exhalation valve through which breath escapes more easily. You notice this when the mask is worn for a whole shift.
The D in the marking FFP2 NR D stands for a passed dolomite clogging test: the mask has proved itself under long dust loading without breathing resistance rising too far.
With valve: advantages and limit
The valve reduces heat and moisture under the mask and makes exhaling easier. It does let exhaled air escape unfiltered, though. Where not only the wearer but also the surroundings must be protected, for example with food, in cleanrooms or in care, a mask without a valve is the right choice, for example the FFP2 folding mask 6203.
Limits of FFP2
Against carcinogenic, mutagenic and reprotoxic substances, radioactive substances and biological agents of risk group 3, FFP2 is permitted only after a risk assessment according to the instructions for use. If the concentration is above 10 times the limit value, you need FFP3 or a half mask with P3 filter.
Packaging and storage
20 masks per box in a foil bag. In the closed original packaging at room temperature, protected from sunlight, the masks can be stored for five years according to the instructions for use.
Putting on and checking the face seal
- 01
Put on the mask
Place the mask over nose and mouth and guide the straps over the head as shown in figures 1 to 5 of the instructions for use.
- 02
Adjust the nose clip
Press the nose clip exactly over the nose and squeeze it gently until the mask fits snugly.
- 03
Check the face seal
Cup the mask with both hands and exhale forcefully. If air escapes at the nose, press the clip down harder, otherwise move or shorten the elastic bands.
- 04
Wear for one shift
Wear the mask for one working shift at most. If breathing becomes harder, replace it at once and start again with a new mask.

Frequently asked questions
What does FFP2 NR D mean?
FFP2 is the filter class (up to 10 times the limit value), NR means not reusable, so one working shift, and D means the mask has passed the dolomite clogging test.
What is the exhalation valve for?
It makes exhaling easier and reduces heat and moisture under the mask. The exhaled air is not filtered.
When is a mask without a valve better?
When the surroundings must be protected from the wearer, for example with food or in cleanrooms. For this there is the FFP2 folding mask 6203.
Is FFP2 enough for wood dust or grinding dust?
That depends on the substance and the concentration. For substances classed as carcinogenic, the selection is part of the risk assessment. The finder and the application examples show typical cases.
How many masks are in one pack?
20 per box in a foil bag.
